On 29 February 2024, the House of European History, youth centre La Clef and actor Wouter Verdegem from En Zonen productions, co-developed an interactive quiz tour. This project connects the topics of the museum to familiar places of young habitants of Brussels.

Albert Joseph Hap, former mayor of Etterbeek around 1800, was resurrected from his grave as a quizmaster to show young Etterbeekois between 10 and 15 years old different historical highlights in the surrounding area of the House of European History. Participants stopped at various locations to answer questions and participate in fun assignments. Together, the group uncovered the brighter and darker histories of Etterbeek and learned about the extraordinary histories in their day-to-day living environment.

Are there remains of the Berlin Wall in Leopold Park, where is General Leman's house located, where do the bells of Place Van Meyel come from and what was the kiosk in the Hap garden once used for? We couldn't dream of a better guide than dear Mr. Hap to answer these questions while enriching his interventions with anecdotes and interactive tests. Even if not all the young people present were necessarily history buffs, they clearly had a lot of fun” - La Vie Etterbeekoise, April 2024

Prior to the quiz tour, the group visited the House of European History to discover the new “The Daily Spy” offer. This trail has been created in the style of a newspaper, where young visitors use their imagination to step into the shoes of a ‘History Spy’, find objects around the museum and follow the instructions outlined in the trail to crack the code and open a top-secret box.
