On Sunday 15 November 2026, imagine what our Discovery Spaces could become, by following a free trail for families as part of Kunstendag voor Kinderen 2026 at the House of European History.
The Discovery Spaces are installations where you slow down, use your senses and follow your curiosity, scattered across the permanent exhibition galleries.
Here is a small secret: these spaces are about to be reinvented. As you explore together, tell us what you think and feel, what you would throw out or turn upside down. Your ideas, reactions and wild suggestions are the raw material for what these spaces will become.
The trail takes about an hour and works best with a mix of generations in your visiting group. Children (of course!), family members, adults, carers, friends of different ages, abilities and interests are all welcome. The more perspectives, the better.
Your visit is a chance to have your say on what these spaces could become. Fresh impressions and honest reactions are exactly what we are looking for.
Staff will be nearby if you have questions or want to chat about what you are discovering. You can drop in all day long without mandatory registration.
However, if you want to share more, register for one of the sessions below, for an informal conversation with snacks.
